The time that has passed since I last wrote simple testament to how busy my life has been these past few weeks.
For example, yesterday was the first day I had off work since July 4th.
I can’t remember the last time I spent an evening at home just relaxing.

Lucky for my sanity, that is about to change!
So much, in fact, has changed in a few short weeks and there is so much to catch you up on!

I’d like to go in to more detail about the big ways God has been moving in my life lately, but for now, I’ll just catch you up on the BIG things!! Craziness, absolute craziness I tell you!

Yep. I know. It’s totally crazy. I just moved to my townhome in Frankfort four months ago… signed a 15 month lease. Love love love my job and the people I work with at the hospital and thought I’d be there for a long time. Well… at least until next summer, when the lease is up. I thought I would then re-evaluate and see where my next move would be. It never crossed my mind that God would have other plans for me, and so soon!! Sometimes, we think we’re “stuck” because of worldly things. Like a lease, for example. A lease means you stay, unless you just have huge money to pay upfront and can just say “peace out dudes.”
But God is soooo much bigger than these things!
He has opened enormous doors for me and simultaneously answered many of my prayers through an opportunity in Bowling Green. I have a future post in mind where I’ll share with you the details of how God  brought me (back) to Bowling Green. I absolutely can’t wait to tell you about it.

Within one week of finding out I was going to Honduras, I had already received $830 out of $1,250 required to travel to Honduras. That alone blew me away (I wrote about it more in the post titled “Best.Birthday.Ever” if you haven’t read about it). 🙂 But since then, support has steadily been coming in… and one week prior to flying out, I have received a total of $1,515!!

I wrote the check for the final amount today… all set to go! So many thanks to my supporters and your faithfulness to God! Your sacrifices are not in vain!
My deposit has already been sent in for my mission to Haiti in November, so the extra money has gone towards that deposit. In addition, whatever continues to roll in will be saved to fund that mission (which is much more expensive)! I’m already soooo excited to go to Haiti, I can’t stand it.

We had a mission team meeting this afternoon to finish up some preparations, including learning praise songs in Hispanic Sign Language (awesome, right?! Totally up my alley… I LOVE sign language!) and practicing our testimonies.
A lot is still up in the air in terms of our schedules (apparently the concept of time and scheduling is totally American), but we do know we will be ministering in hospitals, schools, a soup kitchen, Vacation Bible Schools, a home for the elderly, prisons, orphanages, and medical clinics!

My “Type A” (control freak, leader, take charge) personality (I’m learning many therapists are cursed with this) has a difficult time not knowing how to prepare for the details… like the scheduling, etc., but God is teaching me to relax and to let HIM lead. I don’t have to be in control all the time.
It’s taken 26 years for me to see that actually, when I let go, AMAZING things happen. So this is yet another lesson for me in SUBMITTING to His call, but being WILLING to go where He leads.
Details aside, I am ready to love on some little children, and to share Jesus with whoever God brings in to my life during my time there. 🙂

I have a feeling I, too, will be forever changed.
…and that’s a good thing!!

This is one of the ones we’ve prepared to share in worship (in Spanish/Hispanic Sign)!
