I can’t wait to share something…
If you haven’t read my last blog post yet (titled “Let Go”), then stop right here, go read it… and then come back!
(I promise you won’t miss anything while you’re gone.) 😉
You back now? Awesome. 🙂
“Let Go” was all about FORGIVENESS as you now know.
After deciding to forgive an old friend of mine and writing her an email, I thought the freedom of my forgiveness felt so good that I wanted to share it… thus the blog post.
Tonight while at a Beth Moore Bible study on the book of Revelation, Beth shared that the Greek word for forgive is “aphiemi.”
Guess what else this word means.
Aphiemi also means to LET GO.
How awesome is that?!
When I began writing my “Let Go” post three nights ago and when I published it last night, I had no idea.
God is just cool like that.
His timing is perfect and His word is living, always ready to touch our lives when we need it most.
I think a great thought to end on is something that Beth encouraged us with tonight in the Bible study. Beth is a survivor of sexual abuse and has overcome so much in her life. She is such an encouragement to me and so many other women and she knows what it means to forgive.
We can’t hang on to our unforgiveness with the same hands that hold on to our “first love,” Jesus Christ.
We have to PICK ONE.
… so what’s in your hands?
(Thank you Jesus for Rev2:4 and Beth Moore. Amen.) 🙂
